Real Madrid would like to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool. With the defender soon to be out of contract, their €15m transfer has accelerated.

Real Madrid suffered an unfortunate injury to Dani Carvajal before the international break. The star defender and Ballon d'Or contender is due to miss the rest of the season, leaving Real Madrid with Lucas Vazquez as their only recognised right-back.

The injury came at an unfortunate time for Real Madrid. They now have two and a half months before the January transfer window opens and they must hope that Lucas Vazquez remains fit between now and then.

That said, there is good news for Real Madrid fans. After all, their pursuit for Trent Alexander-Arnold has accelerated.

Real Madrid accelerate €15m transfer for Trent Alexander-Arnold

According to a report from Fichajes, Real Madrid are now just "one step away" from signing Trent Alexander-Arnold. In fact, the plan has moved forward from summer 2025 to January 2025.

Given that Trent Alexander-Arnold runs out of contract in 2025, Real Madrid hope that a deal between €10m and €15m will be enough for Liverpool to allow him to leave six months before his contract expires.

This is an incredible bargain, as far as Real Madrid is concerned. The Spanish giants are no strangers to picking up coups in the transfer market, since most of their financial dominance has relied on signing the best players for cheap or no fees.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the best defenders in the world. His strongest position is at right-back, where he would slot straight in at Real Madrid to replace Dani Carvajal.

That said, the Englishman has already shown a great presence in midfield too. His creativity and wide range of passing makes him perfect in a deep-lying midfielder role, so Carlo Ancelotti may have this in mind too.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has a great on-field and off-field relationship with Jude Bellingham. The two combine well while on international duty with England. Hopefully, Jude had a private word with Trent while England played Greece and Finland this week.
