Real Madrid are a club that always has its hands in the transfer market. They're always scouting players all over the globe who they view as potential players they want to bring to the club.

These players range from well established stars, to young teenagers, to up and coming stars show loads of promise. And these players are from all kinds of different clubs, both big and small.

And with new manager Xabi Alonso at the helm, the club has changed their transfer strategy in order to fit the type of players he wants.

The club has been scouting a large number of young players from all over the globe to be part of the new ear, and it seems they have their eyes on a 21-year-old midfielder from an unlikely Premier League side.

Real Madrid interested in midfielder from unlikely Premier League team

As being reported by Daily Mail, Real Madrid have turned their attention to Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton to be their long-term architect in the midfield after the departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

His tempo controlling and his deep laying play making ability makes him just the kind of midfielder Los Blancos have been missing in recent years. However, any transfer for Wharton wouldn't be smooth sailing for a number of reasons.

First reason would be the price, Crystal Palace have made their stance clear to any club interested in signing their midfield gem, either pay their £100 million asking price or look for someone else to sign. And the other hurdle is the competition.

Real would be competing with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham for his signing, which, for an England international, is stiff competition to go up against.

Given the midfield depth at Real Madrid, as well as the new addition of Franco Mastantuono, signing Adam Wharton seems like an unnecessary signing and just hoarding players so other clubs can't sign them.
