Real Madrid have made some really smart business deals in the past.

Whether it was to sign a player like Dean Huijsen for just 60 million - yes, even that seems like a bargain now - or it was to add a 50% sell-on clause on a player like Nico Paz, who is already getting big offers from big clubs, Real Madrid have always been ahead of the curve.

Their additions of sell-on clauses on these young players' contracts reaps them more benefits than they could count, and it is actually really smart to add these clauses to not just the young Castilla players, but any player they can add them on.

For example, they added this clause to Takefusa Kubo's contract. who is now one of the most talented wingers in Spain, plying his trade for Real Sociedad.

Real Madrid could get 30 million euros from Atletico without selling any player

According to a report from MARCA, Kubo is gaining interest from Atletico Madrid - one of Real Madrid's biggest rivals - and if they pay his release clause of 60 million euros, Real Madrid get 30 million euros because of the 50% sell-on clause they added to his contract when they sold him to La Real.

This is, quite frankly, insane. These are the players they need to add these clauses to, because they can always go for a lot of money.

Kubo, even though he has not scored many goals for Real Sociedad, is still a ridiculously talented player who has played really well for Real Sociedad for a couple of seasons.

He has had a few blips, but that is the case with all young players, and it is certain that with a better supporting cast, his numbers will go way up.

It is a shame that he could be leaving Real Sociedad for Atletico Madrid - purely from a Real Madrid fan's point of view - but hey, at least the club gets 30 million euros if the release clause deal does happen.

It is not ideal, but it is not far from it, either, considering the circumstances. It is a huge ask, obviously, but Atletico have been investing heavily this transfer window, and this could well happen.
