Where do I even start? That was the worst game Real Madrid have played all season. And do you know what's both awkward and funny? This is not the first time I've mentioned that this was the worst game of the season.
Carlo Ancelotti made a joke out of the team that was assigned to him, if I may say so. This season, he was tipped with Kylian Mbappe and played some of the top players in Europe, but he turned everything upside down.
I have to commend the Italian manager for his final days of work, which are similar to those of a notice period employee. Just enjoy the last few days and do nothing. Enjoy the feelings without exerting any effort.
The point, though, is that this game was lost long before it began. Los Blancos had already lost it when the lineup was decided before the 90-minute game.
Although there were numerous reasons for this shame, one in particular stood out.
Carlo Ancelotti trusts Lucas Vazquez way more than he should
When the starting lineup was revealed, Lucas Vazquez's name caused me to reconsider my intention to watch this match.
I'm not sure how Ancelotti has consistently overlooked this squad's most obvious reality. It is impossible to demonstrate that Vazquez has not been a liability this season.
Even though the right-back has been Los Blancos' worst big game performer, he nevertheless manages to convince the manager to start him every time.
Even if I've been a fair admirer of Carlo Ancelotti's methods throughout the years, his positions are now unjustifiable.
The finest and most difficult games require many strategic decisions to win, whereas only one unintentional mistake can cost you the game. Carlo Ancelotti, on the other hand, made the most premeditated mistake that shouted blunder in the face.
Vazquez has undoubtedly caused this team a great deal of loss and misery. He was a major factor in the Copa Del Rey final loss, one of the numerous reasons Real Madrid was eliminated from the Champions League, and now the main cause of the league's defeat.
He flew around during the game, but he was rarely in the place where he was needed. He was as skilled at passing as someone who had never played football. He did nothing in the front and was completely absent at the back. What is the term for this type of performance? A complete blunder.
However, his weekly performances of this type of play strangely failed to persuade Ancelotti to bench him.
Vazquez was directly responsible for at least two of Madrid's goals on the field, if my memory serves me correctly. And he was one of the main causes of the right side's seeming paralysis and near-complete absence.
The Spaniard was reduced to a spectator as nearly all of Barcelona's advances came from his side of the field.
To be honest, this should have been Vazquez's final Real Madrid game, but we all know that it won't be. Fortunately, Carlo Ancelotti is also leaving permanently. I'm very happy that this season is over. No more of this weekly football agony.
