Rodrygo's future at Real Madrid looked to be in jeopardy in the summer when he appeared just three times at the FIFA Club World Cup. The Brazilian attacker seemed to be the high-profile name who would drop out of Xabi Alonso's XI following the Spaniard's appointment.

But the 24-year-old has played his way back into Alonso's good books and is now one of the first names on his teamsheet. He might not be as prolific as years gone by, with just two goals and six assists in 22 games across competitions, but his overall performances have been impressive.

Alonso is counting on Rodrygo in the second half of the season but his future might be a talking point once again in the summer. He is being linked with a move to the Premier League and to become a former Barcelona manager's first major signing.

The Premier League has been a destination constantly suggested for Rodrygo if he were to leave Real Madrid. Liverpool and Arsenal were linked in the summer but put off by a reported 90 million

A potential switch to England could still be on the cards amid reports suggesting Luis Enrique wants to bring him to Manchester United. The former Barca boss is thought to want to depart Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and take on a new challenge.

That's according to Francois Gallardo who claims he's eyeing the vacant United job. Ruben Amorim was sacked by the Red Devils last week after calling out the ownership for not making him manager rather than coach.

Enrique's deal with PSG expires in 2027 but rumors are growing that he could be the permanent Amorim replacement. If he does take over at Old Trafford he has his sights set on Rodrygo.

Defensa Central claim that information from Gallardo has surfaced online regarding Enrique wanting to sign Rodrygo for PSG. It's suggested that if he were to be appointed at United, he'd want the Brazilian to join him.

Rodrygo's contract expires in 2028 and his representatives have made it clear that he sees his long-term future at Madrid. Seeing as he's a regular under Alonso it seems unlikely he'll be going anywhere unless Enrique can persuade him to help kickstart a new era at Old Trafford.

Enrique 'told' Rodrygo he wants him

Enrique's admiration of Rodrygo has been well-documented amid links to PSG where he finally delivered the Parisians Champions League glory last season. The Spaniard has done an excellent job at the Parc des Princes and built an exciting youthful team whose attack is one of Europe's finest.

But the former Barca coach reportedly made his stance over the Brazilian clear during the Club World Cup. After Madrid lost 4-0 to his side it's claimed that he told the player in the tunnel, "I want you on my team."

Whether or not this is true remains to be seen but if so it makes sense he'd want to take him to United. But there is nothing to suggest Rodrygo is looking to depart or would be convinced to exit the Bernabeu.
