Real Madrid set huge price tag for Rodrygo as Premier League interest grows

Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is under intense scrutiny, most of it from the media lately. He has not been good for a long time now, and his future does not seem secure with the club for the same reason.

Although Xabi Alonso has signified trust in the Brazilian, he has not done well so far to justify it. He was very average against Al Hilal and did not play against Pachuca. He was not in the warm-up either.

The situation, as it stands, is very dubious. There does not seem to be much hope for his continuity at Los Blancos. Rodrygo is simply not effective on the right, and he continues to insist on playing on the left, which is a ridiculous idea to even think about.

Even on his worst day, the current Vinicius Jr is better than the current version of Rodrygo. And even if Vinicius is to be given rest from his duties on the left, I would rather see Mbappe play there with Gonzalo Garcia as the striker.

Rodrygo should not even be in the consideration for the left wing, and honestly, he should not try either.

Even on the right, the competition is only rising. Brahim has started to shine again, Arda Guler is going to have a statement season and a lot of it could come from the right, and the signing of Franco Mastantuono, who plays predominantly as a right winger, perhaps seals Rodrygo’s fate.

Real Madrid have set a huge price tag on Rodrygo

According to Cadena SER, Madrid have determined a price tag of about 90 million euros for Rodrygo.

The winger’s contract with Real Madrid extends until 2028, which puts Los Blancos in a strong position to negotiate a considerable fee for him.

On top of that, Arsenal’s interest in Rodrygo has only been increasing. They see him as a star in London and a key piece for the project under Mikel Arteta. Perhaps in London, he would get many more opportunities on the left than he might at Madrid if he stays.

Chelsea were also seen as one of the potential places for Rodrygo to land but as of now, Arsenal are clearly ahead.
