That was not a performance that Real Madrid will look back on in a hurry. They lost to Liverpool at Anfield Stadium, marking their second loss of the season under Xabi Alonso.
Despite this loss being by (much) slimmer margins than the Madrid Derby loss was, Real Madrid fans might argue that the loss against Liverpool was even more embarrassing than losing in their own home city.
And that's because Real Madrid never looked like winning. Right from the get-go, Liverpool was on the front-foot, and they could have punished Real Madrid much more than they did.
In truth, Thibaut Courtois saved Real Madrid tonight. That might have been an okay sentence to shout if Madrid won, but since it was a loss, we'll resort to whispering it.
So, Courtois was Real Madrid's best player, but who was their worst? Well, take your pick, really.
Eduardo Camavinga was Real Madrid's worst player vs Liverpool
If you were to judge your football opinions by purely what you see online, then you would think Arda Güler was bad tonight. And he was, fair enough, but he wasn't even Real Madrid's worst.
Guler cares more about getting instagram posts with Mbappe than us winning games

Area Guler bro there’s more to life than trying to find Mbappe at every instant

You can shoot the ball too you know ?
Eduardo Camavinga was Real Madrid's worst player, and that's not an honor he'd write home about, but it's at least one he'd take accountability for and try to rectify in the next game.
Camavinga thought he'd be playing on the right-wing tonight, but if we're being honest, he was a full-back for most of the game. Florian Wirtz, who really dialled it up for Liverpool tonight, gave Camavinga a tough time and pinned him back more often than Camavinga would have liked.
Camavinga attempted eight duels, and was only successful in three of them. He had pretty good passing, with a completion rate of 91%, but he did next to nothing in the final third.
Perhaps it was through no fault of his own, but Camavinga put out a disasterclass tonight. Everything he went in the game trying to do, he was not allowed to do.
The one element that was in his control, though, cost Real Madrid the match. It was Camavinga who played Alexis Mac Allister onside for Liverpool's winning, and only goal.
Considering the goal went to VAR for a potential offside tells you everything you need to know about how fine the margins were there. The countless replays, though, highlighted Camavinga as costing Real Madrid the game.
