It may only be a matter of days until Jose Mourinho is officially unveiled as the next Real Madrid manager, and there is an excitement brewing in the air around the Valdebebas about the reunion with the very same manager who rescued Los Blancos from two trophyless seasons and embarrassment at the hands of Barcelona to becoming the biggest lions of the Champions League again.

What everyone wants to know - and what president Florentino Perez is hoping for - is if Mourinho can get on the same page as Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. From the day Mbappe arrived to a team that had already won the Champions League and La Liga without him, the concern was that the Frenchman and the Brazilian could not co-exist due to their desire to play the same role on the pitch. And while Madrid downplayed those concerns, two seasons, no trophies, and much more locker room drama later, even they have to have the same worries.

According to a report from Miguel Serrano, via the Madrid Zone, Kylian Mbappe, just like Vinicius Junior, is excited to work with Jose Mourinho and would love to be coached by him. That is easier said now than later if Mbappe does not run for his coach or play defense and behaves the same way he always has, but there is optimism that Mourinho, whom Zlatan Ibrahimovic used to say would get players to do anything for him, can be that guy to unleash Mbappe for the first time in his career.

Mourinho has also already, per Serrano, reached out to Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Thibaut Courtois ahead of his anticipated move from Benfica back to Real Madrid, and that shows you both how things are accelerating and how eager Mou is to coach this team.

Mbappe is central to the Real Madrid project. We all know Florentino Perez is never going to admit defeat on Mbappe, and he is going to keep cycling through ideas to try and make this work. And with Vini's contract still not renewed, there is this implied sense that he is putting Mbappe, whom he called the club's best player, No. 1 in the project despite all that Vini has won and how the locker room is closer to the Brazilian than the new star.

Mourinho has the unenviable task of getting everyone on the same page, but it sounds like Mbappe is thrilled about the idea of being coached by one of football's biggest showmen - and one of football's most stubborn and driven winners of all time.
