Real Madrid are finally back. After 40 days without any football to complain about, the fans will be so happy seeing their club back.

It has been a few weeks and now, finally, Real Madrid have concluded preparations for their first La Liga game of the season, a match against Osasuna on Tuesday.

Real Madrid, not long ago, welcomed Franco Mastantuono to the club, and he could even make his debut against Osasuna, according to a report a couple of days ago.

However, Alonso has been thoroughly impressed with Mastantuono, and he made his feelings clear in his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon.

Franco Mastantuono has impressed Xabi Alonso greatly at Real Madrid

He said: "The first time I spoke to him, I was very surprised by his personality. He was only 17 years old and was a very confident man.

"He had no qualms about taking the step of coming to Real Madrid. You can see his maturity, his desire, his quality. He will integrate into the team very quickly.”

Those are excellent words to be saying about a player who turned 18 just four days ago. It rarely happens that an experienced ex-player and now manager like Alonso talks about a youngster the way he has talked about Mastantuono since his arrival.

He also talked about the kind of player he is as well, praising his maturity, his final pass and the way he fights with and without the ball.

He said: "He will bring quality, energy, he is committed defensively, he has good momentum. I have seen that he has that Argentine fighting spirit and competitive spirit. He is good at the final pass. He is at a very good level.”

Those are, once again, great things for an 18 year-old football player who has just joined the biggest club in Europe.

It remains to be seen just how much this translates onto the pitch but I am certain it will not be a problem for Mastantuono to show his qualities as a football player very soon.
