Diario AS earlier reported that Real Madrid wanted to end the contract of Brazilian flop Reinier Jesus and find a suitable club to buy him out. If not, they were prepared to terminate his contract.

Madrid signed Jesus in the winter of 2020, reportedly paying around 30 million euros to secure his transfer. He was touted as the next big Brazilian talent back then, and Madrid acted swiftly to sign him.

But after several dismal loan spells and little promise shown in the academy, Madrid have grown tired of placing trust in the player and now want him out.

According to The Athletic, former club Flamengo, from which Real Madrid originally signed Jesus, are interested in bringing the attacking midfielder back. Other Brazilian clubs are also said to be monitoring the situation.

Real Madrid and Reinier Jesus to discuss future

The report states that the player’s representatives and Real Madrid officials will meet this month to discuss the future of the once-hyped Brazilian.

He is not expected to be considered by Alvaro Arbeloa either, and having failed to earn a first-team spot in five years, it is most likely game over for Jesus at Real Madrid. The future appears bleak, and both parties should now mutually decide not to continue this chapter.

Real Madrid have long had a fascination with Brazilian talents. Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo are prime examples of that gamble paying off.

They also signed Endrick amid major hype, although he has not impressed yet. To be fair, he has not been given the appropriate opportunity to do so.

All in all, some gambles succeed, and some flop. Jesus unfortunately turned out to be the latter. It looked like a promising signing at the time, a young and exciting attacking midfielder from Brazil sounded good on paper, but something was missing that only the club and the player truly know.
