Who is Real Madrid's future Endrick or Gonzalo Garcia?

Real Madrid have two of the most promising attacking talents in world football in their possession in Endrick and Gonzalo Garcia. The two young starlets have caught the eye this season despite not becoming regular starters at the Estadio Bernabeu.

Endrick decided to head out on loan to French club Lyon in early January and he has refound the sensational form that brought him to the Spanish capital from Palmeiras. He has been a revelation, and his current manager, Paulo Fonseca, is reportedly pushing for his loan to be extended.

Garcia put the world on notice with a remarkable performance at the FIFA Club World Cup last summer. The Spanish striker is playing backup to Kylian Mbappe but has shown his worth when called upon.

Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre (via Madrid Universal) has claimed that Garcia is the bigger prospect. He reckons the young frontman would be putting up the same numbers as Endrick if he were to have moved to Lyon.

With that in mind, TheRealChamps have dived into the two Madrid wonderkids and, with the help of SofaScore, decided on which of them is going to be the face of the Bernabeu in years to come.

Attacking and passing statistics

Endrick's red-hot form at Lyon has been evident and his status in that team is why he shades Garca in the attacking department. Both have scored three goals each in their respective leagues although the Spaniard has appeared 17 times while the Brazilian just thrice.

The expected goals ratio goes to Endrick at 2.26 while Garcia is at 2.53. The Lyon loanee goals per game is currently 1.0 to the Madrid striker's 0.2 but it must be noted that the latter is a substitute not a starter.

Endrick certainly knows where the goal is as he has a record of 2.7 shots on target while Garcia is at 0.3. As for big chances missed, the Brazilian is superior as he's only missed two while his Los Blancos teammate has spurned three.

Their profiles are different and that's represented by their passing statistics. Endrick is the more versatile attacker who can play out wide while Garcia is a traditional number nine.

Endrick has one assist to his name while Garcia has none which is why the Brazilian sits on 0.3 assists per game and the Spaniard is at 0.0. The expected assists goes to the man on loan at Lyon who records 0.64 to his competitor's 0.27.

Possessional statistics

The statistics show that Endrick is the better option from a possessional standpoint and is why many view Garcia as more of a goalscorer who can lead the line. The Brazil international has completed 4.0 (52.2%) of his dribble attempts while the Spanish youngster has managed 0.1 (16.7%).

Endrick is a demon in ground duels, winning 6.7 (50%) while Garcia comes in at 0.6 (43.5%). But the Castilla academy product is superior in the air and that's an attribute many are excited about.

Garcia has won 0.6 (78.6%) of his aerial duels to Endrick's 0.3 (25%). They could be the perfect partners up top once the Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo era comes to an end.

Age and Profile

Endrick, for many, is the bigger prospect and that's understandable given he still only 19. Many forget he is a teenager who needed time to adapt to life in the Spanish capital.

The Brazilian can operate as a center-forward, a second striker and out on the wing. He has played more times on the right (3) than up top centrally (2) at Lyon.

Garcia might not be familiar to fans outside Spanish football although his Club World Cup campaign in which he won the Golden Boot was a statement. He is still only 21 but evidently ahead of the Brazilian in his development.

There are reasons he is compared to club legend Raul and that's because he is a number nine whose main work comes as the focal point of the attack. Putting him out on the wing hasn't worked because of all his playing traits are that of a number nine.

Ancelotti and Alonso's verdicts

Who better to turn to for an opinion on the Madrid stars then their former managers. Carlo Ancelotti spoke glowingly of Endrick during his time managing the Brazilian (via beIN Sports):

"Endrick looks really promising, with huge potential. He's fast, has great control, and packs a powerful shot. That's his thing. He's a proper striker, especially dangerous in tight spaces."

Alonso compared Garcia to Raul when speaking at the Club World Cup. He suggested he was set for a bright future (via GOAL):

"He's the typical number nine, who knows how to wait for his opportunity, who moves well. I'm very happy for him. He has Raul qualities in his movements."

Conclusion

Endrick

Endrick should be the main focus of Madrid over the next decade and be used similarly to Cristiano Ronaldo if the club want to reap similar rewards. His exploits at Lyon clearly show he can be the talisman for his team and he has the aura of a superstar.

That's not to say Garcia isn't an exciting talent who has the ability to become a world beater at the Bernabeu. Los Blancos are blessed to have them both in the team and its why the current strategy of signing youth makes sense.

A future frontline will undoubtedly have these two at the forefront of it with perhaps Franco Mastantuono involved. But as for who could be Madrid's Ballon d'Or worthy talent in years to come it's Endrick who is the future face of Florentino Perez's project.
