One of Real Madrid's goalscorers against Levante, Franco Mastantuono, is enjoying life at his new club.
There is no doubt about the fact that not many people expected Mastantuono to play as much as he has so far.
He is still only 18, and most 18 year olds at the club are accustomed to spending a lot of time on the bench.
Not Mastantuono, though.
He has walked straight into the starting XI, and looks more and more like the brilliant talent everyone expected him to be.
Mastantuono scored his first goal on the weekend, and after, he was asked about a returnee in Jude Bellingham, and how good he is.
The Argentine actually called him the most authoritative player he's ever seen, which kind of leaves Dani Carvajal in a pickle.
Franco Mastantuono calls Jude Bellingham the most authoritative player he's ever seen
Mastantuono said: "Jude Bellingham caught my attention the most. He has a presence and a level of authority I've never seen before. He’s a unique player.”
That makes sense. Bellingham seems like the kind of player who is always demanding more from his teammates. He also seems like a leader who just helps as much as he can in training.
I have no anecdotes for him, unfortunately, but clearly, Mastantuono does. There are so many others who have also said similar things about the English superstar.
In a way, it is very exciting to think about how much Mastantuono admires Bellingham. That means he can learn a lot from the player. Better yet, they can learn more about each other's games and it will be really fun to watch them play together once they do.
It is only the start of the season, and obviously, Real Madrid fans will expect a lot right from the start - as they should - but Mastantuono will hope that things can keep improving as the season goes on.
There are a lot of things that still need some sort of improvement, but like Xabi Alonso said in a presser once, it is a marathon, not a sprint.
That same thing can be said about Mastantuono himself. He has been playing well, yes. He has been performing at a top level, but he is still very raw and it will take a while for him to fully adapt at the club.
One thing is for sure, though: Bellingham's return will definitely help him more than he believes. If the two can form a synergy together, it might be curtains for the rest of Europe.
