It will not be a defender, it will not be Harry Kane, it will not be Erling Haaland, it will not be Jérémy Doku, and it will not be Michael Olise. Instead, it will be another player in midfield or attack, and he will try to bring them to the club.
He plans to make the move on Tuesday, and fans have already started speculating about who it might be.
If it is not a defender, it will probably be a midfielder because Real Madrid already have enough attackers to last for the next few seasons.
The general consensus among fans seems to be that it will be either João Neves or Vitinha. If it is between them - or even if it isn't at the moment - they should not look any further than João Neves.
Neves is a brilliant player and an all-round technician with virtually no weaknesses in his game. His passing, both short and long range, is excellent. He is a brilliant dribbler. He will only continue to improve, as he is only 21 years old and is already one of the best midfielders in the world. The Portuguese superstar is the engine of the PSG team that has now won two Champions Leagues in a row.
If Real Madrid are able to sign him, it would be a phenomenal move from the club, and easily the biggest one in the right direction.
It is also worth noting that it will be very difficult for Madrid to get him because PSG will absolutely not want to lose one of their best players. However, Pérez can be very convincing, and it remains to be seen what happens with both the player and the club.
It may end up being someone else, but if I am Pérez, I am going all in for Neves because he is a very young player with a profile that Real Madrid genuinely need. Many people believe he is very similar to Fede Valverde, but he really isn't.
Valverde and Neves share some similar attributes, but Neves is much more willing to play as a deep-lying playmaker. His long-range passing is excellent, and his dribbling is better. Obviously, there are areas where Valverde is superior, but they would complement each other really well if they played together.
It remains to be seen what Pérez ultimately decides to do and whether this mystery player eventually arrives in Madrid.
