The 2024/25 season is yet another one that Real Madrid have had to struggle with injuries. The squad has lost a number of key players to medium and long-term issues which has sent this campaign into disarray early on. Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao have both suffered serious injuries which are expected to keep them out for the rest of the season. Other players like Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez, Aurelien Tchouameni and more are out on the sidelines.

These injury problems have contributed to a poor start to Real Madrid's season. But luckily for Carlo Ancelotti, one of his key players is looking set to return to action after this international break.

As reported by The Athletic, Thibaut Courtois is eyeing a return to fitness when Real Madrid face Leganes on November 24. The Belgian goalkeeper has missed the last four games with an adductor injury.

Courtois suffered an adductor injury in his left leg in the derby vs Atletico Madrid in late September. He then made his return to play against Celta Vigo and Borussia Dortmund but suffered a resurgence of his injury in late October.

Last season's hero Andriy Lunin has been playing in Courtois' place and has had a bit of a rough time. The Ukrainian has conceded seven goals in the three games he's played since the Belgian's injury, which is far from the form we saw from him last season.

Real Madrid have also lost three of the five games Lunin has played in this season. In comparison, Courtois has not been involved in any defeat.

Courtois' return could potentially be a boost that Los Blancos need to get their season back on track. However, given the amount of other major injuries in the squad, it could be hard for Real Madrid to find their footing this season. Let's see what happens.
