Real Madrid have been linked to the signing of Savinho from Man City. However, the transfer would only cause more problems for Carlo Ancelotti.
In true Real Madrid fashion, they have been hit by an injury crisis this season. Disproportionately, their defenders are mainly on the treatment table. For this reason, it's been hard for Carlo Ancelotti to maintain any form of squad balance this campaign.
It is widely documented that Real Madrid have the best attack in the world. Not only do they have the best first-team options of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham but they also have incredible depth with Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler and Endrick too.
Nevertheless, Real Madrid have been linked to yet another attacker. This week, it was revealed that they were contemplating signing Savinho from Man City, despite only signing for Man City in the summer.
Real Madrid transfer for explosive Man City player would cause more problems
Signing Savinho would be an awful idea from Real Madrid. He plays primarily at right-wing, a position which is already flooded with options. This season, Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler have all been deployed in this position.
Therefore, there really is no room for another option in this position, unless one of those players is to be sold by Real Madrid. That's right - Sold, not loaned. Real Madrid housing four incredible right-wingers might look good on paper but it would be impossible to keep them all happy.
Then, the conundrum becomes who should be sold out of Rodrygo, Brahim and Guler? The preferable answer is none. However, it will have to be one if Savinho is signed.
Given Real Madrid's three options in this position are already proven at this level, signing somebody else who probably isn't up to the standard of starting really isn't worthwhile. Real Madrid's attention is better suited elsewhere.
