Real Madrid are reportedly setting their sights on one of Europe's best wingers who they think can rival Barcelona's Lamine Yamal. The Spanish starlet might soon be battling it out with a young superstar talent in El Clasico.
According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Madrid are readying an €100 million offer for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Desire Doue. They believe that tensions behind the scenes at the Parc des Princes could lead to the Frenchman becoming available.
A rift between Luis Enrique and Ousmane Dembele has rocked the Paris giants in recent weeks. Los Blancos could take advantage of a tumultous situation in their attempt to prise Doue away from the French capital.
Real Madrid prepare Doue offer
A potential deal for Doue won't be easy given he is regarded as one of the best attacking talents in world football. He scored a sensational brace in PSG's 3-2 comeback win over AS Monaco in the Champions League playoffs this week.
Doue caught the eye during the Parisians' UEFA Champions League winning campaign last year. The 20-year-old bagged five goals and four assists in 16 games, including a brace and an assist in the 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the final.
Madrid are aware of just how difficult it will be to try and persuade PSG to part with their 'world-class' talent. They hope that internal tensions can help alongside a fee close to €100 million for a player Enrique recently dubbed a "difference maker."
It's not just Doue's incredible ability that have earned admiration from the Spanish giants. They also feel he can become a huge commercial asset in a similar way to Yamal at Barca.
Madrid's interest is said to be "real" although there is no "definitive offensive" just yet. He has just over three years on his contract with PSG.
Real Madrid and PSG's improved relationship could be key
If Madrid were to launch a move for Doue last summer they'd likely immediately be snubbed. There have been well-documented issues between the two clubs stemming from the handling of Kylian Mbappe's constant links to the Bernabeu during his time with the Ligue 1 giants.
Reports claim that the relationship between Florentino Perez and Nasser Al-Khelaifi have improved. This came following Los Blancos' decision to pull out of the Super League.
If negotiations were to take place between the two clubs the improvement in relations could be crucial. It will still be a very difficult transfer to try and complete given Doue's importance in Enrique's team.
Doue hasn't suggested he wants to leave PSG but Madrid have yet to make a concrete move. He isn't exactly a necessity for the Spaniards given Endrick is returning and they already have Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo as options out wide.
