Real Madrid beat Juventus 1-0 in the Club World Cup round-of-16 to book their place in the latter stage of the competition.
They will face either Monterrey or Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals, and a Sergio Ramos reunion could well be on the cards.
Real Madrid have had to play against decent to good teams, but this felt like it was the biggest challenge yet, and they came through and won the game.
Here are the best and worst players from the win over Juventus.
Fede Valverde was great for Real Madrid once again
Real Madrid had a few good performers, so it was not easy to pick the best of the bunch. However, it has to go to Fede Valverde.
Even though Gonzalo Garcia was the player who scored the winning goal for Los Blancos, Valverde made things click for Real Madrid. He was exceptional on both ends, and acted like a proper box-to-box midfielder.
He made so many key challenges on the defensive side, that it was hard to ignore. Real Madrid were clearly in danger at so many points, and yet, it was Valverde who broke them free of those troubles.
Valverde made a lot of darting runs into the box, and it was refreshing to see. It is a good sign of things to come for him, and he has been exceptional since missing the penalty in the first game.
Antonio Rudiger needs to improve
There were a few bad performers as well, but I think Rudiger was the worst one of the bunch. He did improve in the second half slightly, but it was not enough to change this answer.
Rudiger, particularly in the first half, looked all over the place. He was gifting away chances, and almost had a generational fumble when he had a miscommunication with Thibaut Courtois.
Rudiger was being toyed with by Yildiz on so many occasions, and if he wants to play under Xabi Alonso, he would need to improve massively.
