Tottenham defender speaks openly about Real Madrid transfer links

Real Madrid are currently linked to one of Tottenham Hotspur's star players. The defender himself has spoken openly about a Real Madrid transfer.

Over the years, there have been some pretty incredible players who joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur. The two most obvious examples are Luka Modric and Gareth Bale.

Well, Tottenham's habit of selling to Real Madrid might live on to this day. After all, one of their star players is currently linked with a move to Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer windows.

In case you missed it, Real Madrid are interested in signing Pedro Porro from Tottenham. The Spanish defender is set to cost Real Madrid around €65 million, or at least this is where Tottenham will begin their negotiations.

According to Relevo and relayed by Fabrizio Romano, Pedro Porro is proud to be linked to Real Madrid. However, he insisted that he is focused on Tottenham as it stands.

In his own words, Pedro Porro said: “Of course I’m proud with these links [to Real Madrid], it means I’m doing things well. If that happens one day, it happens. Now I’m fully focused on my clubs, Tottenham”

For Real Madrid, only the first part should be taken seriously. This doesn't mean they should view his commitment to Tottenham with a blindfold but they must take his PR training into context there.

Of course, Pedro Porro is not going to come out openly and say he wants to join Real Madrid. He might think it, but he will never say it while he is contracted to Tottenham Hotspur, especially before the transfer window even opens.

At Tottenham Hotspur, times are troublesome right now. Fans hope that the players can find form after the October international break, since Ange Postecoglou is struggling to find consistency.

One player who has never lacked consistency, though, is Pedro Porro. The full-back is one of the best in his position for his abilities in all three thirds of the pitch.

Pedro Porro's form earned him a call-up to the Spain national team for the recent Nations League break. In both matches, Porro started and played the 90 minutes. Against Serbia, he even provided an assist.

So, some Real Madrid fans will already be familiar with Pedro Porro. Those fans will understand the appeal of Pedro Porro and desire what he could produce under Carlo Ancelotti.
