Every Real Madrid fan knows that Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé have not linked up the way everyone wanted and expected them to in the last two seasons.
Even though both of them say that there is no problem between them, the way Vinícius Júnior plays when Kylian Mbappé is not on the pitch is very different from how he plays when the Frenchman is on the pitch.
It's clear that these two are just too similar, and they have not worked out together, which is why it might even be best case for one of them to leave. It won't be Mbappé, so if anything, it will be Vinicius Júnior, especially considering the contract situation. It is also worth noting that Mbappé would then be able to play in his natural position, on the left wing, if Vinicius Júnior ends up leaving.
He is not the only player who would be in that situation, anyway.
Endrick would get so many more minutes at his preferred position, too
Endrick, at this point, is staring at a very difficult situation at Real Madrid. He'd have to choose between three options: playing for Real Madrid as the second to third option at the striker position, the back-up at right-wing position, or leaving for more minutes elsewhere.
However, if Vinícius Júnior ends up leaving Real Madrid in this transfer window, everything changes for Endrick as well, and no one is mentioning that.
Real Madrid will be able to get Mbappé to play on the left, Yan Diomande will play on the right, and Endrick can go up top, which is where these players have always wanted to play. These would be their natural positions.
Obviously, Mbappé has had to play as a striker. It is still a position where he's really good, but he has always been a better left winger than a striker. If Vinícius Júnior is gone, that spot opens up very easily for the Frenchman.
Endrick, on the other hand, goes from being a very out-of-the-box option off the bench for Real Madrid in the dying stages of games to being a starter in his preferred position.
Real Madrid have also signed Carlos Espí recently, but he was always going to be the backup striker for whoever starts for Real Madrid in any case. His aerial presence will always help the team in the second half of games, which is why Endrick will probably be the first choice to start if the striker spot is open.
On the other hand, it is obviously the worst thing imaginable to think about a player like Vinícius Júnior potentially leaving Real Madrid. Hand of Arsenal recently reported late on Thursday night that Vinícius Júnior and Arsenal have reached an agreement on personal terms in principle, which is why the author has raised this question in the first place.
It is all about looking for silver linings and looking at different profiles and how they would fit if one of the best players in the world ends up leaving the best club in the world.
It remains to be seen what happens with Vinícius Júnior and Real Madrid in the following weeks. The expectation is that he extends his contract with Los Blancos, but if he doesn't, then Endrick has a big claim to one of the starting spots.
