According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid want to have Xabi Alonso on the sideline for the FIFA Club World Cup, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Real Madrid fans might feel like there's no reason to smile right now. After all, this is a results-driven sport, and Los Blancos have not had the best results this season. Obviously, El Clasico was the bitter icing on what’s been a pretty disappointing cake.

However, off the pitch, things seem to be flowing smoothly for Real Madrid. Everything behind the scenes needs to click if Real wants to move past what’s been a pretty dreadful season.

News broke last week that Trent Alexander-Arnold would be on his way to the Spanish capital for the new season and if early signs this week are anything to go by, he'll be mentored by a new coach who knows about his Merseyside surroundings well.

That's right, Fabrizio Romano has dropped a banger in favor of Real Madrid. The Italian journalist has rubber-stamped Xabi Alonso's arrival at the Bernabeu as a "Here We Go" and even claims that the ball could be rolling sooner than expected.

Following his everything-but-official confirmation, Romano followed up with a new claim that Real Madrid always planned to have Xabi Alonso on the sideline for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

The FIFA Club World Cup commences this summer in the United States of America, with Real Madrid's first match being played on Wednesday, 18 June at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, FL.

So, the soccer state could witness a historic moment for the sport's most historic club; Xabi Alonso will return to Real Madrid, with both his era and Trent’s beginning right in Lionel Messi’s new backyard

It's been a long-time coming, but Real Madrid fans can finally breathe a breath of fresh air. Not only is the Carlo Ancelotti era coming to an end, but they are welcoming one of the most exciting young managers to the helm.

Obviously, Alonso knows Real Madrid well. He is a club legend and one of the best ever players to operate the Real Madrid midfield. Now, he will oversee the tactical shifts with his own beady eyes.

Carlo Ancelotti should have a graceful farewell. He hasn't set the world alight this season, but his position in the Real Madrid books is firmly etched. Nevertheless, it's now time for a new era and a fresh start.

Real Madrid fans in the U.S.A. might want to circle June 18. More soccer history could be made in Miami.
