Real Madrid have recently quashed rumors that Enzo Fernández could be signing for them. Now, another midfielder, Fabinho, has speculated that he wants to join Los Blancos.
On El Chiringuito TV, Fabinho was asked about a potential move back to the Santiago Bernabeu and replied, “Real Madrid move? It’s the best club in the world."
Los Blancos are getting used to players flirting with them to fuel transfer speculation. Fernandez said openly that he was open to the idea of joining the club. This led to him being suspended by his current club, Chelsea.
Real Madrid had to put out a statement saying that they would not be signing Fernandez. They may now have to do the same about Fabinho.
It is unlikley that Fabinho will get a move to Real Madrid
Fabinho is now 32 and a free agent after leaving Al-Ittihad. He was still part of Brazil's squad for the World Cup. However, he featured in just three out of their five games. The midfielder was an unused substitute as Carlo Ancelotti's side were defeated by Norway in the round of 16.
His time playing at the highest level appeared to end in 2023 when he left Liverpool for the Saudi Pro League. Before this, Fabinho was with AS Monaco, and he even had a brief spell at Real Madrid.
The midfielder was sent on loan to Los Blancos from the Portuguese side, Rio Ave. He predominantly played for Real Madrid Castilla, making 30 appearances for them in the Segunda División.
This was during José Mourinho's first stint as Los Blancos' manager. Mourinho gave Fabinho one appearance for the first team, which came in a 6-2 win over Malaga. Fabinho was playing right back, and he even set up a goal for Angel Di Maria.
There are not many current rumors as to where Fabinho could go next. This could be why the player is putting himself out there by going on TV. Perhaps a return to Brazil could be on the cards for Fabinho. He was with Fluminense before he moved to Rio Ave. The player has been linked with multiple Brazilian clubs in the past.
It is unlikely that another top European club will come in for Fabinho. Potentially, a Turkish club or another Saudi Pro League team could also come in for the player. Fabinho got a taste for soccer in the United States at the World Cup this summer. Therefore, he could be open to a move to MLS.
