Atletico Madrid planning bid for Dries Mertens

Atletico want to sign Napoli forward Dries Mertens and build the future around him AS is reporting.

The Belgium international has been the centerpiece on attack at Napoli and his fantastic play has earned him a lot of attention around Europe. With Antoine Griezmann still struggling for form, Mertens could be looked at as a replacement for the French player.

La Liga players shine in Spain’s 5-0 win over Costa Rica

It was a fantastic showing from the Spanish national team Saturday night as they demolished Costa Rica 5-0 with little effort.

Eight players from Spain’s top flight started, with four more appearing off the bench in the second half.

Of those players, four were from Real Madrid (Sergio Ramos, Isco, Marco Asensio, and Nacho).

Messi has already been deemed Ballon d’Or winner?

Apparently, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has already been awarded the 2017 Ballon d’Or.

A French newspaper seems to think he already has, which is rather peculiar.
