Kylian Mbappé

At 19, Mbappé became only the second teenager (Pelé was the first player) in football history to score in a World Cup final. That, in itself, is highly indicative of the sort of player he is.

At only 21, he is valued the most in world football, with his market value set higher than the likes of Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, who are still playing exceedingly well in spite of being on the wrong side of their thirties.

Real Madrid haven’t had someone who could score 40-50+ goals a season since Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus, and they have since struggled to replace those goals, with only Karim Benzema coming to the fore, scoring 30 goals and 26* goals in 2018-19 and 2019-20 (so far) respectively.

Kylian Mbappé is capable and comfortable playing anywhere across the front three, but he featured mostly on the right side of a three-pronged for the French national team when they won the World Cup.

Mbappé has revealed his plans for the next season, stating that he is going to stay at the Parc des Princes. By the end of 2020-21, the Frenchman will have just a year remaining on his contract, making it easier for Los Blancos to land the generational talent. It would be a similar ploy to the one used in signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea.

There are no qualms about the fact that Mbappé is dreaming of a move to Real Madrid, but he knows he will have to wait it out if the perfect opportunity has to present itself.

If the repercussions of the pandemic outlast the upcoming season, Real’s plans of building a project around Mbappé will go south, as PSG won’t let him go for a cheap fee.

With everything considered, Kylian Mbappé is destined to don the royal white jersey, and Los Blancos desperately need someone like him in the roster to continue challenging for titles.
