Liverpool RW Mohamed Salah

If Real Madrid cannot sign Kylian Mbappe but still want a right-sided forward, then Mohamed Salah is really the only alternative.

The left-footed 28-year-old is in the prime of his career and is pretty much on par with Mbappe in terms of quality. Salah is one of the best pure goal-scorers in Europe, and I don’t think you can find a right winger who is more capable of finding the back of the net than Salah. He’s also wonderful in counterattacking situations, which would benefit Zinedine Zidane greatly.

Salah has scored 13 goals in 15 starts in the Premier League for Liverpool this season and is by far their best player technically. The Egyptian has quietly averaged 1.7 key passes per game and 1.4 dribbles per game, according to WhoScored.com, and those statistics are a reminder that Salah offers more than just goal-scoring to a team.

Real Madrid may not have the money to a sign a superstar attacking player this year; we have to be very concerned about the club’s financial situation. But since we don’t know for sure what the plans are, Salah is a player very much worth watching for in the coming year.

If Salah wants to leave Liverpool, then Los Blancos could swoop in and sign him. Adding Salah would be similar to when Real Madrid signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea, and while that may concern fans given how often Hazard has been injured, it’s hard to envision another Premier League superstar having the same bad luck.
