Midfield

Liverpool have a strong midfield, they have midfielders who can absolutely impact the outcome of a game while dictating the midfield quite well. Players like Jordan Henderson, Georgino Wijnaldum, and former Real Madrid Castilla player Fabinho have only been strengthened by the addition of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich over the summer. It’s clear how Jurgen Klopp has turned his midfield into a well-oiled machine and that was especially clear during the last couple of seasons which saw the team win the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.

However, it’s no secret that Los Blancos have the best midfield trio in recent years. Age may be a little bit of a factor in most cases but when Luka Modric plays the way he has been playing, age is truly just a number.

Carlos Casemiro has been a savior at the team defensively for a while now, and mix that with his newfound belief going forward, we have been seeing a very dangerous version of the Brazilian. Another former Bayern Munich player has been an absolute machine in Toni Kroos who continuously finds the ability to dictate play and read the game to perfection. In summary, it’s very difficult to look past the Real Madrid trio at the moment.

Final Verdict: Carlos Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric
