Borja Mayoral:

With a spectacular season at loan, Borja Mayoral has impressed almost every Madridista. His goal-scoring ability has been brilliant. But, while loaning Mayoral, Madrid agreed to Roma’s buy-out option for 15 million Euros. So, we can say that Roma will exercise that clause, paying Madrid the said amount.

Also, to be honest, Real Madrid is not in the need of Mayoral. Jovic could be Benzema’s rightful back-up after the satisfactory loan spell that he had at Frankfurt. So, we can see Mayoral’s exit anytime soon.

Many people will argue that Mayoral is better than Jovic or that he should rather be loaned out instead of being sold. But that is their opinion, and this is mine. Mayoral has been a Real Madrid player for 8 years and even though he hasn’t received many chances, his previous loan spells hadn’t been impressive either.

So, after just one impressive loan spell, we cannot rank him above Jovic. Rather I think it is the perfect time to cash in on Borja. Plus, the funds that we receive would obviously help in funding Mbappe, so we shouldn’t see his exit as a problem.
