PSG DON’T WANT TO BE PLAYING WITH FIRE

Paris Saint-Germain will very well know that there is an unimaginable loss in store for them if they let the world’s best youngster leave for free next summer. The cost of keeping him for one year certainly exceeds the cost of getting rid of him one year earlier. Nasser Al-Khelaifi would not want to involve himself in a mess especially after spending lavishly this summer.

He has already signed Georginio Wijnaldum and is on the verge of adding Achraf Hakimi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Sergio Ramos– all of whom are expensive in terms of bonuses and wages, although the latter two are immune to a transfer fee at the moment.

With such signings, the prospect of suffering from Financial Fair Play ramifications also looms large on Paris Saint-Germain. The hazard of missing out on European football for PSG could harm several other players in the squad as well, let alone the new signings and other future targets.

Mbappe, who has shown no interest in renewing his contract, could be the best bait to recovery from this situation. The French international will yield a sum exceeding 100 million euros and also leverage a freeload on PSG’s wage bill by a significant margin. By not parting company with him, PSG are not just staring at a financial loss, but a sporting one as well.
