The Fab Four

Even after all these years, Real Madrid still boast the best midfield duo in the league as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric continue to defy all odds and somehow look like they’re getting even better with age. Add Karim Benzema to the mix up front and these three are part of the top players in La Liga. Having them fit and at the top of their game is a massive asset to the club as Ancelotti can count on any of them to dictate the pace of the game and be decisive when required.

They have the required experience to make the amendments needed in big games and to never let the occasion get to them. You can see Toni Kroos play the exact same way whether it’s a Copa del Rey game against a second division team or a UEFA Champions League final. Being this calm and collected in the face of a challenge only brings positive performances for the club. As they dictate the pace in the middle and up front, the man at the back has continued to be sensational and more often than not, has found ways to keep Real Madrid in the game: Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian has overcome early adversity when he first joined the club to being arguably the player that they rely on the most. He has come up big numerous times in consecutive matches this season and shows no intention of slowing down anytime soon. Many points this season were won directly because of Courtois and as we applaud the team for scoring the goals they do, Thibaut Courtois deserves to be applauded for the goals he stops.
