CM Toni Kroos

Retiring from the German national team has served Toni Kroos well. The world-class No. 8 can solely focus on his duties with Real Madrid, where he remains as important as ever. Kroos is consistently one of Real’s top performers, and while his red-hot form has cooled off a little bit, the ex-Bayern Munich star is still producing the goods.

His control of the game is necessary against Inter, who love to make life difficult on opposing attacks by condensing the middle of the pitch. An inspired long ball or two from Kroos to Vinicius Junior or Rodrygo Goes in transition could be exactly what Real need to grab yet another win over the defending Serie A champions.

DM Casemiro

Casemiro does not have to worry about any bookings in this match. He does, however, have to worry about Inter’s efficiency on the break. Helping out against the strikers, the wide men, and the ever-tricky Nicolo Barella will keep Case plenty busy. His 2021-2022 season has been positive as a whole, but it has been more of a mixed bag than Madridistas would like. Casemiro will be one of the most important players on the pitch this Tuesday for Los Blancos.

CM Luka Modric

I thought Carlo Ancelotti would rest Luka Modric over the weekend at the Anoeta. Instead, Modric started and delivered another tireless, high-class performance in the middle of the park, thoroughly outshining his Real Sociedad counterparts.

Once again, I believe Don Carlo will start the veteran Croatian magician, instead opting to roll with the fiery Fede Valverde in the upcoming Derbi vs. Atletico Madrid on Sunday night. Modric is a good bet to have a big game against Inter, given his style of the play and the way his game has rebounded since his first meeting with Inter. He and Kroos are too damn good together.
