Real Madrid will face Cadiz this Sunday afternoon for their second-to-last fixture of the 2021/22 LaLiga season, which they already secured in April with a 4-0 victory over Espanyol.

Cadiz took points off Real earlier this season with a 0-0 draw, as the Merengues dominated possession but could not get the ball over the line, failing to create sufficient clear-cut chances. Recently, they avenged similar performances by putting three goals on Osasuna and four on Espanyol, so they could do the same to Cadiz on the road this Sunday.

Here is a predicted starting lineup for Real Madrid on LaLiga’s Matchday 37.

GK Andriy Lunin

Carlo Ancelotti has already stated that Andriy Lunin will start this Sunday at Cadiz. This is another big chance for Lunin, who has impressed Madridistas this season, including against Atletico Madrid last weekend with his distribution.

LB Ferland Mendy

Marcelo may not be ready to return to the starting lineup yet, so we will likely see another start from Ferland Mendy. He played well on Thursday in the 6-0 win against Levante, scoring the opening goal.

CB Nacho Fernandez

Massive in central defense against Levante, these are the games for Nacho to shine in.

CB Jesus Vallejo

Jesus Vallejo has turned in surprisingly strong performances. He was brilliant against Espanyol, decent enough in El Derbi, and solid in the clean sheet against Levante. Even in the late stages against Manchester City in the Champions League semifinals, Vallejo was an asset. He can further improve his transfer value with a strong showing against LaLiga veterans Alvaro Negredo and Lucas Perez.

RB Lucas Vazquez

Dani Carvajal still needs some rest. Real Betis will be his tune-up game before the Champions League Final against Liverpool. So Lucas Vazquez it is.

CM Toni Kroos

Luka Modric started and had a hat-trick of assists in the first half alone this Thursday vs. Levante, creating a fourth goal with another sumptuous through ball. So now it is Toni Kroos’ turn to start again after he got some minutes off the bench in the blowout win over the Frogs. Modric is suspended anyway after picking up a fifth yellow card for a handball.

DM Eduardo Camavinga

Carlo Ancelotti should give Eduardo Camavinga as many minutes as possible in the 6 role. A start against Cadiz before Casemiro returns to the XI vs. Los Verdiblancos seems like a logical decision. Camavinga has been outrageously good lately.

CM Fede Valverde

Oh-so-close to a wondergoal, Fede Valverde will be itching to get on the scoresheet this Sunday afternoon. Like Camavinga, he is another young player who needs to start.

LW Eden Hazard

Now that Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Vinicius Jr. and Karim Benzema will rest vs. Cadiz, I will go out on a limb and predict a surprise start for Eden Hazard. He will not play the full 90 minutes, but I believe Carletto will let the No. 7 play as long as he is fit for. It would be awesome to see him play well.

ST Mariano Diaz

Luka Jovic has mostly been phased out by Ancelotti, only starting against Atleti due to Mariano’s injury just before the game started. I am not confident Mariano will start, but he is the most likely option if Benzema is indeed rested.

dark. Next. Real Madrid will get double injury boost before Liverpool

RW Rodrygo Goes

Like Fede and Camavinga, Rodrygo Goes is a young man who cannot be stopped. His goals were vital in Real Madrid making it to the Champions League Final, and he got on the end of a delightful Luka Modric pass against Levante to add to his LaLiga tally. Rodrygo is growing in confidence each week he plays.
