Real Madrid are going to be busy signing contract extensions and renewals in the summer 2022 transfer window, and these moves are just as important as the splashy names they bring into the club. Securing the future and continuity of the top players at the club means everything.

All the players who are actually key at Real Madrid know how much they are valued at the club,  and extending them should not be difficult. Vinicius Jr., Luka Modric, and the main man Karim Benzema are legitimate Ballon d’Or contenders, and extending them should not be an issue.

Rodrygo Goes isn’t quite on the level of those players, but based on his recent breakout, he should reach that level soon. Despite not being an every-game starter for most of the 2021/22 season, there are also no doubts regarding the ex-Santos man’s love for Madrid and the ease of extending him.

Rodrygo could receive 6 million euros per year on his next Real Madrid contract

According to El Debate’s David Vicente Casado, Real Madrid already have Rodrygo Goes under contract through the 2024/25 season, but they are considering rewarding him with a two-year extension that would take his deal through 2026/27.

This extension is specifically a reward because Rodrygo would also receive a raise to show how much Real Madrid value him. Los Blancos would bump his salary up to six million euros per year. That is not quite Vini Jr.’s expected 10 million euro wages, but Rodrygo isn’t quite as established as his teammate nearing 40 goals and assists this season.

Rodrygo, of course, is capable of hitting that number. He is sensational and is the reason why Real Madrid were able to make comebacks to reach the Champions League Final. At six million euros per season, Rodrygo would be a bargain, though we have every reason to believe he would be happy with taking that raise. Rodrygo loves Madrid and is the perfect role player for the attack with his intelligence, versatility, creativity, technical skill, work ethic, and efficiency.
