Real Madrid is the greatest club in the history of European football and is the club where dreams turn into reality. A lot of youngsters dream of joining this club and becoming a footballing superstar.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby seems no different, as the 22-year-old winger has mentioned in an interview that Real Madrid is his childhood dream club.

Maybe there is a chance that Moussa Diaby’s dream comes true this summer, as Real Madrid is in search of a right-winger after Kylian Mbappe, a transfer target who too dreamt of Real Madrid but had his own priorities, chose to renew his contract at PSG.

Recently there haven’t been any rumours of Real Madrid being interested in Diaby, but he has been on the club’s radar since 2021. There were some rumours of interest earlier this season.

Moussa Diaby might be the kind of winger Real Madrid needs

The club has an electric Vinicius Jr on the left but lacks the same energy on the right-wing. Rodrygo has managed to bring goal contributions from the right-wing, but his best version can be seen on the left-wing. And Marco Asensio’s future looks uncertain.

In this situation, the club needs a left-footed natural right-winger, who has the flair to excel in 1v1 situations and can produce goals consistently. And Moussa Diaby fits the required profile perfectly.

The Frenchman, who was mentioned in my colleague Kevin’s article on Bundesliga prospects to monitor in 2020, has practically exploded this season, registering 17 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. He’s a natural left-footer but has the ability to score some screamers with his weaker right foot.

He’s one of the quickest players in the Bundesliga and has the ability to play on both the flanks. At times, he appears like a mirror image of Vinicius Jr to me, due to his pace and ability to create chances from wide areas. His chance-creation skills from even the central areas are excellent.

There hasn’t been any strong rumour linking him to Real Madrid yet, but he’s a possible target and the club should definitely consider his option.
