Real Madrid are always on the lookout for the next big thing in world football. Currently, they are scouting a handful of forward targets with world-class potential who could one day replace Karim Benzema at the striker position.

Botafogo’s Matheus Nascimento is the latest name to be linked, and the Borussia Dortmund duo of Karim Adeyemi and Youssoufo Moukoko may also be of interest. But the No. 1 target in the eyes of many Madridistas is Palmeiras’ U17 sensation Endrick.

After scoring a ridiculous bicycle kick to emerge on the mainstream radar at the age of 15, Endrick’s stock started to rise. Real Madrid have the inside track to signing him, though Palmeiras saw the interest in him, including from Real’s bitter rivals Barcelona, and signed Endrick to a 60 million euro release clause.

If Endrick’s stock was high then, well, it has just reached another level now. Because he scored two ridiculous goals for Palmeiras in their U17 Brazil Cup Final triumph over Vasco da Gama.

Endrick scored a smart goal from open play and a world-class free kick

Here is a better angle of the first goal he scored from open play, and here is a better angle of the stunning free kick.

These two goals show the different sides of Endrick and why he is such a classy prospect worth Real Madrid’s time. The first occurred after he carried the ball from midfield, holding off the defense, as they could not get a touch of the ball against him. The ball was tethered to his feet, as he dribbled in transition with calmness and strength! Better yet, he kept going, making the right movements off the ball to put himself in position to score an easy goal.

Now, the second goal shows you the individual quality and technical ability. His free kick was jaw-dropping, the kind of free kick that you don’t expect to see from such a young player. Endrick can pull of goals that so few prospects are capable of, and he does it regularly. This free kick was the latest example of that.

Endrick is not cheap, and no player is a sure thing. But as we have seen with Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes, Real Madrid getting in on a great young player early is best. A special talent is worth the gamble, and Endrick appears to have as high upside as any of the prospects Real Madrid have signed from Brazil.

Best of all, he elevated his team to victory in a Final. If that isn’t part of the Real Madrid DNA, then I do not know what is!
