A talented midfielder is on his way out of Real Madrid, and it makes sense for him to leave

Real Madrid’s talent, especially in the midfield, is exceptional. It’s actually off the charts. They have so many great midfielders, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro, Eduardo Camavinga are just four of the many midfielders Real can currently boast. Of course, some departures are lined up, particularly of the outcasts, but we have to realise that the midfield is in good hands.

I think it’s fair to assume that there are going to be at least a couple of departures from the senior team, but there is one player from the Castilla that, according to reports, is definitely going to leave this summer. Spoiler alert: he’s also a midfielder.

According to Revelo, Real Madrid have given Antonio Blanco the green light to leave the club this summer. He’d be looking for a La Liga club.

Unfortunately, Antonio Blanco wouldn’t have broken into Real Madrid’s midfield depth chart

Real Madrid’s midfield is actually so stacked, if you think about it. They have a trio full of experience, technique and one that has played with each other for years. Then they have another trio, a comparatively inexperienced one, but all are born winners in their own right, full of physicality and energy.

I think it’s the perfect combination, and I’d even go as far as to say that Real Madrid have the best midfield in the world. There are many teams that have great midfielders, none of those teams have it as good as Real, though.

Breaking into that midfield for Antonio Blanco would’ve been impossible. He’d have been the seventh-choice midfielder of the team, and that is if Dani Ceballos ends up leaving the club. It’s not fair for the club to ask him to stay and play for Castilla for yet another season, and according to the report, that option was ruled out anyway.

Blanco is too good to play for Castilla, but isn’t good enough to get significant minutes for the first team. It’s a sad reality, but it’s just the way it is sometimes at Real Madrid. When you have players like Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni trying to fight for the starting spots, someone else will have to suffer.
