Real Madrid are about to make a huge mistake by selling this prospect

Real Madrid trying to make sales is not something we haven’t heard before. They’re always trying to make the wantaway players leave, as well as those who don’t really help the team in any way.

They have also started selling loanees who they don’t think will ever play a significant part for the first team, and they’re doing the same for some Castilla players.

One of those players, Miguel Gutierrez, is an absolute gem. He’s had very bad luck with injuries this year and the last, but he is a very, very good two-way presence, and Castilla have looked good because of his dominance on the left-flank.

But, according to AS, via MadridXtra, Real Madrid are going to sell him this summer, and will retain 50% of his rights, which would mean they get 50% of any future transfer fee on Miguel.

This is a mistake.

Miguel Gutierrez has the talent to one day become a Real Madrid starter

Apparently, Miguel was told to stay at Castilla and play for the first team whenever called upon, but he didn’t accept that offer.

Miguel is very, very young. He’s only 20, and Mendy is not exactly old, but in a few years, after his prime ends, he will likely start declining a little bit. That part doesn’t even matter that much, to be honest. We’ve seen two players battle for minutes on the same starting spot, that could’ve been Mendy and Miguel in a couple of years, depending on which team Real Madrid are playing.

It doesn’t make sense for the club to sell him now, when his value isn’t even that high. If Real had sent him out on loan for a couple of seasons, to test the waters and see what kind of player he would become, that would’ve been wiser. They could’ve just done that instead of not even giving the kid a chance to show his worth.

Miguel is really good, perhaps too good for Castilla and I think he does deserve game time elsewhere, but not permanently. He could’ve been sent on loan, or sold with a buy-back clause. It’s just a weird move, this one. It hasn’t been revealed which club he will be sold to, likely because there isn’t anything concrete.

But, according to this report, it seems certain that Miguel won’t be a Real Madrid player at the end of the transfer window.
