3 Real Madrid players who enter the January transfer window on thin ice

It feels like this season just started two weeks ago but somehow we are already at the January transfer window. Many clubs are expected to be active in the market to bolster their squad or patch holes left by injuries and many wonder what activity will Real Madrid be up to.

Los Blancos aren't expect to be active when it comes to bringing anyone new in but we could potentially see a departure or at least the foundations being set for a departure in the summer. But who exactly could be walking this thin line? Let's take a look at three players who could see their time at Real Madrid come to an end whether in January or in the summer.

3 Real Madrid players who walk into the January transfer window on a thin tightrope

1. Vinicius Jr

Nobody is saying Vinicius will be sold in January, but given his ongoing contract uncertainty and his antics becoming more of a pressing issue this season, he is walking a fine line to a potential summer exit. The Brazilian is out of contract in 2027, and extension talks have stalled leading to much speculation surrounding his future at the Bernabeu.

On top of his contract uncertainty, we've seen the Brazilian's antics on the pitch jump to another level this season, and we've all heard the rumors about the relationship between the player and Xabi Alonso not being a strong one. All of these factors have culminated in the Brazilian walking a very thin line as we head towards the January and summer transfer windows, where we could see Vinicius depart Real Madrid.

2. Gonzalo Garcia

When it comes to Gonzalo Garcia, he isn't walking a thin line because he is playing poorly and as a result could leave in January, it's actually almost the opposite. Gonzalo is too good and has too much potential for the limited role he currently has and could get a move away in January for more regular game time to show the talent he has that is currently being kept on the bench.

A few weeks ago, Gonzalo was linked with Bundesliga side Stuttgart as well as a number of Premier League sides and the club could loan him out for him to get regular game time similarly to Endrick. Loaning out both strikers in the same window wouldn't be the smartest decision the club could make given all other attackers are struggling besides Kylian Mbappe.

3. Dani Ceballos

Finally, we have Dani Ceballos. A player who has somehow managed to stick around at Real Madrid for longer than many were probably expecting.

The Spaniard is a solid player and he's a good guy to have on the bench to come on in a game and add that experience to the team, but given the sheer amount of midfielders already at Real Madrid and the rumored return of Nico Paz next summer and Ceballos surely seems to be walking a thin line of keeping his place in the team when the 26/27 season rolls around.
