Carlo Ancelotti makes baffling decision on his Real Madrid future

The speculation about Carlo Ancelotti's resignation has finally begun to gain traction. The manager's position at Real Madrid appears to be in jeopardy, and rightly so.

Everyone knows he has been bad all season. But let me say this: he has been terrible since he came in Madrid on his second spell. It's just that he didn't have Karim Benzema, Joselu, or Toni Kroos to help disguise his mediocrity this time.

Even after suffering defeat so many times this season, the Italian manager had shown no desire to adapt his approach, which has ended in the most painful Champions League departure ever.

Having an aggregate score of 1-5 against a team that has only made it to the Champions League semifinals three times in its history should infuriate any club's upper levels and spark a complete makeover.

Ancelotti's future is not entirely assured right now. And he may be more out than in right now.

Carlo Ancelotti will not leave Real Madrid of his own accord

In a news conference before of Sunday's La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao, the Italian was asked about the future of the enormous question mark over his future at Los Blancos, as well as interest from the Brazil national team.

The manager said, "I have a contract with Real Madrid and I'm happy. As long as they don't say otherwise, I won't listen to any proposals."

Ancelotti has clearly stated his viewpoint. He would not consider leaving until he is specifically advised to do so by the club.

Personally, I don't think this is a good indicator going forward. It has been stated that the outcome of the Copa Del Rey final will determine whether Ancelotti stays or leaves, but I believe the game should have no influence on the Italian's position.

Even if Madrid pulls off a miraculous victory, Carlo Ancelotti must depart. There has been sufficient evidence to support this claim. But the club believes differently. If Ancelotti does stay for another season, the consequences will be disastrous.
