Even if his time is ticking at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti wants to leave them a present. It comes in the form of reuniting with his former English defender.

Carlo Ancelotti is less favourable to Real Madrid as the season progresses. While he is a club legend and one of the greatest managers of all-time, it is time for Real Madrid to move on after this season.

However, Carlo Ancelotti is still dedicated to having a great closing season with Real Madrid. The Italian coach strives for success and this is the case at the biggest club in football history.

Throughout his career, Ancelotti has managed many top clubs. One of the clubs which often gets forgotten about is Everton, where Ancelotti spent some time on the touchline.

Carlo Ancelotti wants to reunite with English defender at Real Madrid

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Real Madrid would like to reignite their interest in Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. In fact, the English centre-back is a concrete transfer target for Real Madrid in January.

Carlo Ancelotti has experience of managing Jarrad Branthwaite, so he can advocate for the Everton defender. It was actually Ancelotti who granted Branthwaite his Everton debut, so the two have some fond memories together.

Real Madrid are undergoing an injury crisis. Most notably, it has impacted their defensive options, with Carlo Ancelotti playing players out of position to cover those areas in need.

Without a doubt, then, Real Madrid will be active in the January transfer window. The club is in desperate need of signings and at this stage, Branthwaite looks very tempting for Los Blancos.

Alongside Real Madrid, English clubs are interested in keeping Branthwaite within the Premier League. Man United are long-term suitors for Branthwaite.

On the other hand, TEAMtalk has claimed that Liverpool are even considering a swoop. However, considering the sheer hatred between Liverpool and Everton, this would be a controversial transfer to say the absolute least.
