Liverpool vs Real Madrid: 3 players who can replace Vinicius Junior
By Kian Long
For the Liverpool vs Real Madrid match in the UEFA Champions League, Vinicius Junior is unavailable through injury. That said, here are 2 players who could replace him.
Liverpool vs Real Madrid is a UEFA Champions League fixture which sticks out to absolute everybody. Not only are they two of the most successful clubs in the competition's history (alongside AC Milan) but they are also still competing at the top level.
Liverpool are top of the Premier League, with Arne Slot reminding Liverpool fans of Jurgen Klopp's best years. Real Madrid are going through a blip, but they are always favoured in the Champions League.
Unfortunately, Real Madrid will be without many of their best players. They travel to England with an injury crisis, one that Vinicius Junior recently joined.
Liverpool vs Real Madrid: 3 players who can replace Vinicius Junior
1. Arda Guler
The first, and most likely option, is Arda Guler. The Turkey international has been knocking on the door of the first team for a long time.
Guler played excellently against Leganes at the weekend. It was a rare start for him and he played brilliantly, even picking out an assist.
Considering Carlo Ancelotti was full of praise for Guler, it is almost certain that he will start against Liverpool in midweek. In fact, it would be rather unjust if Guler didn't start.
2. Endrick
Another option that Real Madrid have, is to playi Kylian Mbappe out on the left and instead of replacing Vinicius, a player could come into playing centrally.
If Ancelotti moves Mbappe out wide, then Endrick is his strongest contender to play through the middle. It is the Brazil international's strongest position, after all.
Endrick has already impressed the UEFA Champions League this season. Therefore, another strong performance against Liverpool could see him break the barrier into the first-team.
3. Brahim Diaz
Offering a different element to Vinicius Junior, Brahim Diaz could ensure that the creativity continues to flow for Real Madrid. In fact, starting Brahim might be Ancelotti's best option to unlock Mbappe for this match.
However, he is the weakest of the three players, it must be said. While he is still an exceptional player and a brilliant asset for Ancelotti, the Italian coach will consider the other two ahead of Brahim.
Still, there could be an option to bring off the bench in Brahim Diaz.
