Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that 18-year-old centre back Lamini Fati has joined Real Madrid from Leganés in the January transfer window.

Now that the January transfer window is open, Real Madrid could involve themselves in transfer business. Over the last few years, though, it has been Real Madrid's strategy to be mindful of their spending. After all, it has made them a financial powerhouse to only spend where they need to spend.

Furthermore, Florentino Perez is a president who always has both eyes on the future. Real Madrid have become a forward-thinking club under his tutelage, so while some decisions might seem unorthodox, fans know that the future of the club is often in safe hands.

Fabrizio Romano confirms centre-back has joined Real Madrid

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Real Madrid have signed the 18-year-old centre back Lamini Fati from Leganés. Real Madrid will pay a €100k fee for him to join the Juvenil team.

Real Madrid are one of the best producers of young talent in the world. They have an incredible youth setup, where the Juvenil side is able to play regular minutes and develop the players for Real's future.

Lamini Fati is a centre-back who is held in high regard for his age. He is certainly a future star, hence why he was spotted by Real Madrid and the royal white club took the punt to sign him ahead of their future.

It is not a coincidence either that Fati is a centre-back, the position which Real Madrid could do with the most in the January transfer window. While Fati is unlikely to make the first team for the remainder of the season, he is a signing made by Real Madrid with the future in mind.

Yet again, this is another example of Real Madrid's forward-thinking.
