Here is a full list of the Real Madrid transfer targets, as Carlo Ancelotti aims to improve the squad in the 2025 January transfer window.

Real Madrid are perhaps the deadliest team in the transfer window. This has especially been the case under presidency of Florentino Perez and it is expected to continue in the 2025 January transfer window.

Over the last few seasons, Real Madrid have signed some incredible names. Some additions at Real Madrid have included the likes of Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Endrick. So, the excitement is always through for the roof for Real Madrid fans.

With that being said, let's take a look at the Real Madrid transfer targets for the 2025 January transfer window...

1. Trent Alexander-Arnold

The name who is most commonly linked to Real Madrid is Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Liverpool full-back is out of contract at the end of the season and he is wanted by Carlo Ancelotti.

Ideally, Real Madrid should sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in the January transfer window. This is because he would make an immediate impact given Real Madrid's injury crisis.

However, Liverpool might not be willing to sell Trent Alexander-Arnold. If this is the case, then Real Madrid would be forced into patience but ultimately, this wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, considering Real Madrid would sign Trent on a free deal at the end of the season.

So, Trent is certainly a Real Madrid transfer target this January. However, whether or not he signs in January or in the summer for free remains to be seen.

2. Alphonso Davies

Sticking with the theme of full-backs, Real Madrid could pursue another pre-contract agreement here. They have been linked with Alphonso Davies for a long time now and the Canadian full-back is still set to run out of contract at Bayern Munich this season.

Much like with Trent Alexander-Arnold, a January signing seems unlikely. However, Real Madrid might use the January transfer window in order to convince Davies to sign with them for free, arriving in the summer.

3. Dean Huijsen

A surprising member who was snuck into this list in recent days id Dean Huijsen, the 19-year-old Bournemouth defender.

Having only signed for the Cherries in the summer transfer window, he is already being linked with a move to Real Madrid. Indeed, Los Blancos have been scouting him for a while and they are impressed with his performances for Bournemouth.

Bournemouth are playing brilliantly in the Premier League this season, with Huijsen establishing himself as a mainstay in the starting lineup in recent months.

He has scored important goals against Tottenham and Man United this season, which shows he has that big-game knack, which will suit him well at Real Madrid. The goal-scoring bonus to one side, he would immediately fix Real Madrid's injury crisis at the back.

Current Team Analysis

The first thing to note is that it's unlikely any player will leave Real Madrid this January. The whites find themselves in a position of needing every available player. Even fringe players such as Dani Ceballos are playing more football than they would've assumed before the season begun.

Alas, the primary concern is in the defence. This is where Real Madrid are most likely to strengthen in the January transfer window, with most of their transfer targets stemming within the back-line.

Both a right-back and a centre-back are needed for Real Madrid in January.

Financial Considerations

Real Madrid had an incredible 2024 in terms of revenue. They also did not spend big in the summer transfer window, so they likely have the resources to invest in their squad in January.

Fans and Experts Opinions

Tom Hindle of Goal has suggested that Real Madrid must sign Trent Alexander-Arnold, send Endrick out on loan and sign a centre back.

Personally, this is the plan I'd operate with, in an ideal world. Endrick is currently rotting away at Real Madrid and while he wants to stay and fight for his place, Real Madrid must be cruel to be kind by sending him out on loan.

Endrick is the only player I'd be happy to see leave Real Madrid in January, though.

In the defence, it is simply a case of signing as many players as possible here. Trent Alexander-Arnold and a centre-back would be more than ideal. It is just a case of pushing Liverpool's resolve.
