Real Madrid have it all figured out, or at least, so it seems. These days, it is good to have some good performances by the team in a competition the club clearly wants to win.

Real Madrid have to play PSG next, and it is going to be Xabi Alonso's biggest task yet. However, he has achieved all his tasks so far, so why not this one too?

One of his biggest challenges was to get the best out of the left-back position, where Real Madrid have struggled deeply in the last few years. They have struggled so much that they have had to rely on Eduardo Camavinga for so many games.

Real Madrid's new manager has figured it out, though. Fran Garcia looks like a man reborn, and has been performing out of his mind in the Club World Cup so far.

Real Madrid could have two good left-backs now, finally

Real Madrid will still sign a new left-back this season, according to a report from The Athletic. Alvaro Carreras' move had stalled for a few weeks, but it is supposed to be picked up again as the club still rates him very highly.

Despite this new signing looming, Garcia is showing no signs of slowing down or leaving the club. He will fight for his place, according to The Athletic, and that is a brilliant piece of news.

Ferland Mendy has been struggling with injuries and form, and he may be the next biggest liability for Real Madrid as they figure out what to do with him.

Things will get especially complicated once Carreras actually arrives, because then, Real Madrid will have three left-backs and it will be a pain to sell the one who would fit the least in terms of Alonso's play style - Mendy.

That would be the new coach's next task, but if Fran keeps performing the way he is, and Carreras arrives in good form, then the supposed new contract Real Madrid gave to Mendy would prove to be very, very costly.
