Real Madrid have updated the kit numbers for the entire squad on their official website, as was revealed by Arancha Rodriguez on Monday morning.

Every single new Real Madrid player now has a kit number, as revealed on the website. Most of these players have new numbers, while two have the same kit number from their previous club.

Besides this, Real Madrid have also updated the kit numbers of three existing players - Raul Asencio, Dean Huijsen and Thiago Pitarch.

All nine kit number changes for Real Madrid in the 2026-27 season - including their history

According to the website, Real Madrid's biggest signing of the season, Yan Diomande, is going to be wearing the number 25 for this summer. He was wearing 49 for Leipzig, and the number he has taken was not taken up by anyone last year.

Marc Cucurella, formerly of Chelsea, is going to be wearing number 17 for Real Madrid, which was taken by Raul Asencio until last season. Cucurella used to wear the number three at Chelsea, but that is occupied by Eder Militao. Asencio will now wear Dani Carvajal's number two.

Denzel Dumfries, who also used to wear two at Milan, will also wear a new kit number - taking up number 24 from Huijsen, who has switched to number four, left vacant by the departing David Alaba. A Spaniard has the number four jersey for the first time since club legend Sergio Ramos' departure.

Bernardo Silva, who used to don the number 20 for Bernardo Silva, is going to be wearing the same jersey for Real Madrid, taking from the departing Fran Garcia - who joined Real Betis earlier in the summer.

Carlos Espi is the other player who is wearing the same jersey number as he did during his time at his previous club, Levante, which was 19. Ceballos wore that number at Real Madrid until his contract was terminated by the club earlier this summer.

Finally, Ibrahima Konate is taking Gonzalo Garcia's number 16 at Real Madrid. Garcia left for Fulham a week ago, and his departure left a number open, presumably for Rodri at Manchester City, who also has that on for club and country. Fans will have to make do with Konate, who could not take his number from Liverpool, a is currently taken by Jude Bellingham.

Finally, the last player who has seen his squad number change is Thiago Pitarch, who will be wearing the number 27 for Real Madrid next season. Despite links with Fulham, he is set to stay at the club next season. He will presumably be registered with Castilla, as his number is beyond the 25-player list that La Liga allows, but it is basically confirmed that he will be playing a lot with the first team, as he is listed with the rest of the squad.
