According to reports in Spain, Kylian Mbappe is now frustrated. He sees Carlo Ancelotti's tactical plan for him as the reason for his Real Madrid struggles.

Kylian Mbappe has not had a great start to his new life in the Spanish capital. The French superstar has surreal standards which are difficult to meet. He has never failed to meet them though, until he joined Real Madrid in the summer.

Mbappe has scored eight goals in 15 Real Madrid matches. Averaging 0.53 goals per game is not a bad rate in usual circumstances. However, as mentioned, Kylian Mbappe has surreal standards, so applying a normal logic does not work with the Frenchman.

Alas, Kylian Mbappe is understandably frustrated with his return. He feels like it could be fixed with one switch.

Kylian Mbappe blames Carlo Ancelotti’s tactics for Real Madrid struggles

According to a report from Spanish outlet Sport, Kylian Mbappe is frustrated because he does not view himself as a number nine. Instead, Mbappe sees this role as too limited and results in fewer chances created for Mbappe.

Therefore, Kylian Mbappe would like to move away from this central position. He sees his future outside of the number nine position which Carlo Ancelotti has assigned to him and he attributes his frustrations since joining Real Madrid to this.

However, there is a conundrum which arises out of this. Kylian Mbappe switching his position would come at the expense of Vinicius Junior. Vini is also not a natural number nine and if anything, Mbappe would operate in this position better than Vini would.

Of course, it is within the interest of Carlo Ancelotti to maintain the squad harmony, particularly between his two biggest stars. To keep one player happy, it may come at the detriment of another. Therefore, Ancelotti must tread carefully.

Today, it was revealed that this season might be Carlo Ancelotti's last season as Real Madrid manager. The Italian has lost the trust of club president Florentino Perez. Now, Perez will look to replace Ancelotti at the end of the season. It is assumed that Xabi Alonso is the replacement.
