Real Madrid are close to the finish line of a disastrous season. The club is all set for another trophy-less campaign, and the fans certainly won’t be happy. A host of issues have been prevalent for Los Blancos lately.

This includes underperforming superstars, a failing defence, and no control in midfield. On top of that, Real, who were often dubbed by fans as “Family FC” not too long ago, have recently witnessed fights among teammates.

Just before El Clasico, one major fight reportedly broke out between club captain Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni. The Uruguayan international slipped and fell to the floor, knocking himself out. At least, that’s what the official statement suggests.

Anyway, Real will have to start putting out the fires and fixing their issues soon to improve their overall performance next season. Alvaro Arbeloa is expected to be dismissed and replaced with an experienced manager. Jose Mourinho is one of the frontrunners for the job, and there’s a realistic chance of the Portuguese tactician returning to the Bernabeu.

However, if that scenario indeed plays out, some questions regarding the future of Vinicius Junior at Real will have to be addressed.

Could Jose Mourinho’s appointment push Vinicius Junior out of Real Madrid

Mourinho is known to be a manager who likes control and wants his players to strictly follow his tactics. Over the years, several superstars have suffered the consequences of not adhering to the Special One’s instructions during his managerial stints at various clubs.

Meanwhile, Vinicius reaches his best form when he is given a certain amount of freedom on the pitch. This was further evident in the Brazilian winger’s lacklustre displays during the first half of the season under Xabi Alonso’s rigid tactical setup.

If anything, Mourinho will tighten the overall control over this Real squad even further which honestly speaking is exactly what the team needs at the moment. But that might not be an ideal situation for Vini who is yet to renew his contract.

The Portuguese tactician’s arrival could further discourage the player from putting pen to paper. The Brazilian’s deal is set to expire in 2027, so Los Blancos might have to make the tough decision to put their superstar on the market if an extension isn’t agreed upon soon.

Could Mourinho’s stance during Benfica racism incident make Vinicius rethink his Real Madrid future

Unfortunately, Vini has been on the receiving end of multiple racial abuse cases in the last few years. One major one occurred during Real’s Champions League matchup against Benfica this season. Gianluca Prestianni covered his mouth and said something towards the Brazilian international, who got infuriated and rushed to the referee to complain.

The whole football world reacted strongly to this episode. But strangely enough, Benfica manager Mourinho decided to criticise Vini instead of disciplining his club’s accused player. So there’s no denying the fact that it was a poor gesture from the veteran tactician.

That incident could prove to be a significant factor if Real indeed appoint Mourinho as the manager. Vini would obviously feel betrayed by the club and might even consider a move away.

Having said all that, nothing is confirmed as of yet and these are just speculations. Moreover, Mourinho surely knows a thing or two about how to manage superstars. So let’s wait and watch how the situation unfolds moving forward.
