Real Madrid would like to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 2025 transfer window. Failing that, here are 3 alternatives for Real Madrid to consider.

Such is the nature of the transfer market, backup options are required. In an ideal world, Real Madrid would be able to sign their first-choice options everytime but this isn't always possible, as shown with Leny Yoro in the summer.

So, to avoid similar upset with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid must draw up a list of options. Hopefully, they won't need to use any of the options, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Luckily, there are a pool of great options for Real Madrid to choose from. That said, here are 3 Trent Alexander-Arnold alternatives for Real Madrid.

3 Trent Alexander-Arnold alternatives for Real Madrid to consider

1. Pedro Porro

The first option is one which Real Madrid have already considered, Pedro Porro from Tottenham Hotspur. The Spanish full-back is the perfect option and a long-term transfer target of Real Madrid's.

Since signing for Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, he has gone from strength to strength. He has already scored seven Premier League goals in a short period of time, which says everything fans must know about him.

Like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Pedro Porro is an attacking full-back. He has physical strength in abundance and he is comfortable in goal-scoring positions, often cutting inside.

2. Achraf Hakimi

The second most logical solution for Real Madrid would be to re-sign a player who knows the club well, Achraf Hakimi. Re-signing former players is a common practice of Real Madrid, after all.

Achraf Hakimi is an experienced big-game player. Having the ability to play on the wing, he could certainly fill the Trent Alexander-Arnold role, if the English full-back cannot be signed.

Considering Hakimi still views Real Madrid as his home, perhaps Real Madrid could give him a homecoming welcome within the next few seasons.

3. Diogo Dalot

Last but certainly not least, it's Manchester United star Diogo Dalot. According to GiveMeSport, he is already on the radar of Real Madrid.

The only downside to Diogo Dalot is his contract situation. He is under contract in Manchester until 2028. Even when that date arrives, Man United will have an option to extend his deal for another year.

So, the cards truly are in Manchester United's hands here. However, Real Madrid have pulled off harder transfers in the past.
