Real Madrid compete tonight in the UEFA Champions League semifinal. They face Bayern Munich but Carlo Ancelotti will also be keeping an eye on their Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund, who play PSG tomorrow. After all, BVB are the surprise outfit in the Champions League this season and they shouldn't be undermined as a potential finalist alongside, hopefully, Real Madrid.
Edin Terzic has done an incredible job at Dortmund and has made them a European side to be feared yet again. As a young manager himself, he provides a sense of relatability and rapport with his young crop of players. That said, Terzic wishes to add a Real Madrid academy graduate to their ranks next season.
Borussia Dortmund eye transfer swoop for Real Madrid academy star
According to a report from Fichajes, Fran Garcia has become a subject of interest from Borussia Dortmund. It is believed that the full-back who came through the Real Madrid youth academy is lined up as a potential alternative to Ian Maatsen, should BVB fail to sign him permanently.
As per BVB Buzz, Chelsea are asking Dortmund to break their transfer record to sign Maatsen permanently, so it is up in the air. Should they fail to meet Chelsea's demands, then it makes sense that Garcia is lined up as his alternative.
After all, the 24-year-old possesses an abundance of talent but fails to get into the Real Madrid lineup on a consistent basis. This season, Fran Garcia has made just 12 La Liga starts as Ferland Mendy is the preferred option under Carlo Ancelotti.

Given the news that Real Madrid are interested in signing Alphonso Davies, all the signs point towards Fran Garcia being sold in the summer transfer window. Whether or not he is sold to Borussia Dortmund remains to be seen but with potentially two world-class full-backs above him in the pecking order, Garcia's days at the Bernabeu appear slim.
It would be great to see Garcia make a name for himself. Preferably, this would be at Real Madrid but if not, Borussia Dortmund are the best European side for him to conquer. He has what it takes and as a Real Madrid academy graduate, he would bring a wealth of knowledge and talent to the German outfit.
Do you think Borussia Dortmund will sign Fran Garcia from Real Madrid?
