Real Madrid must expect heavy interest in their players for the summer transfer window. After all, the boss Carlo Ancelotti is blessed with the most talented squad in the world and with many of their players shining on the international stage, it is an inevitable that their players will attract interest.

One player who is setting the world alight is Arda Guler. Unsurprisingly, the Turkish wonderkid is carrying his nation to stardom and after scoring a wonder-goal at EURO 2024, he began to turn heads. One of those heads was the head of new Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

Liverpool dream of two Real Madrid transfers this summer

According to a report from UOL (h/t Team Talk), there are a growing number of players who are concerned by the double arrival of Endrick and Kylian Mbappe, since it could limit their game-time. The report also states that Liverpool are keen to explore a potential deal for Arda Guler in light of this uncertainty, while they still remain interested in signing Rodrygo.

Indeed, Liverpool have been long-time admirers of Rodrygo. Their interest even stretches back to before the Brazilian moved to the Spanish capital, as Jurgen Klopp even envisioned a different future for him then. If Real Madrid fans expected that the Liverpool vision to sign Rodrygo would change under new management, they are sadly mistaken.

Essentially, the report seems to portray a sense of "wanting Rodrygo, but potentially settling for Arda Guler." On that note, it is difficult to imagine that Real Madrid would be willing to sell Arda Guler permamently at this stage. He is about to have his breakthrough and having already impressed at the Bernabeu, it would be silly to sell him right now. A loan could be on the cards, though.

In fact, a loan deal could be beneficial for all parties. For Liverpool, it allows flexibility to adapt to Arne Slot's new system. For Real Madrid, it allows fairer for competition for places and for Arda Guler, it guarantees more game time than he would get at Real Madrid.

For Rodrygo, though, a loan move makes little to no sense. For the Brazilian, it will be a permanent sale of nothing at all. Given that he has matured into a valuable and seemingly irreplacable member of the squad, this is something that Carlo Ancelotti must seriously weigh up before entertaining any Liverpool interest.
