Liverpool have not given Real Madrid a moment's rest in the 2024 summer transfer window. It seems that new manager Arne Slot or whoever is making the decisions at Anfield Stadium is a big fan of Real Madrid, since they have gone from targeting one player to the next in this window.

Liverpool move their attention to another Real Madrid transfer coup

According to a report from Graeme Bailey (h/r TEAMTALK), Liverpool have their eyes set on Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin now. It is reported that the Ukraine international is viewed as the ideal long-term replacement for Alisson, who is a key figure of interest to Cristiano Ronaldo's Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

Alisson is under contract at Liverpool until 2027, which means Arne Slot is best-placed to keep the Brazil international. However, this has not stopped Saudi Arabian interest, as Alisson is still believed to be a top target for the Pro League. Therefore, Liverpol are thinking ahead to the future should they wish to replace Alisson.

Make no mistake about it, Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world. Therefore, filling his boots (or gloves) is a difficult task for Liverpool. However, the Andriy Lunin situation seems to be a golden opportunity which has presented itself to the Reds at the right time.

In case you weren't aware, Andriy Lunin is the most likely Real Madrid player to depart this summer. The backup goalkeeper is discontent with being the second choice at Real Madrid, hence why he is attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Andriy Lunin truly stepped up for Carlo Ancelotti in the 2023/24 season. Particularly in the Champions League, Lunin put in some magnificent displays for Real Madrid, filling in for the injured Thibaut Courtois. Therefore, it is understandable that he is disheartened not to have worked his way up the pecking order.

His position as the second-placed goalkeeper was essentially solidified when Carlo Ancelotti selected Thibaut Courtois for the Champions League final.

On that note, Real Madrid are prepared to lose Andriy Lunin this summer as they have compiled some potential replacements. They could even be offered Diogo Costa from Lunin's agent, who also represents the Portugal goalkeeper.

Do you think Real Madrid should sell Andriy Lunin this summer?
