Real Madrid are involved in a goalkeeper debacle at this very point. It looks like Andriy Lunin could leave the club, but Chelsea are no longer interested in signing him. Speaking of Chelsea, Real Madrid would like to sign their goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on a permanent deal, too.

One former Real Madrid goalkeeper is nearing the end of his career, but he is set for at least one more club before he retires. Rumour has it, he is on the precipice of joining a Serie A side, after already agreeing to join as a free agent.

Real Madrid legend set to match Raphael Varane with Serie A transfer

According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, Keylor Navas has already agreed to sign for AC Monza as a free agent. He will fly over from Costa Rica to Italy today (Tuesday) to complete a medical test and sign his documents as a new AC Monza player.

Last season, Monza finished a respectable 12th place in the Serie A table. For them to have already established themselves as a mid-table Italian side with just two seasons back in the top flight shows that they are in the Serie A to stay and adding in the experience of Keylor Navas will surely help them for the season ahead.

Since leaving Real Madrid, Keylor Navas has played in Ligue 1 for Paris Saint-Germain and the Premier League for Nottingham Forest. The 37-year-old has experience of playing all over Europe, and now he is adding Italy to that list.

Keylor Navas spent five years with Real Madrid, playing between the years of 2014-2019. He won a plethora of honours, including three consecutive Champions League titles. Naturally, though, in his final season he was replaced by Thibaut Courtois. It was clear that Navas had been displaced by the Belgian, who has stood the test of time since he is still the number one today.

Real Madrid fans have a lot of respect for Keylor Navas. He took the replacement well and he made the history books as the first ever non-Spanish goalkeeper to reach 100 Liga appearances for Real Madrid. Real Madrid fans, therefore, wish Navas nothing but success at his new club.

Keylor Navas could now play against Raphael Varane, as Varane also completed a move to the Serie A recently, joining Como.
